India's first Conrad to open in 2015

7 Feb 2014 by Clement Huang

Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement with India’s Palm Grove Beach Hotels to open Conrad Pune in 2015, the first Conrad-branded property in the country.

With 23 properties globally, the Conrad brand is looking to establish a foothold in Pune – which is an hour's flight from Mumbai – since Hilton Worldwide believes it's a key gateway for the Indian growth market.

Conrad Pune will be housed in a towering structure set over Mangaldas Road, in Pune's central business district. It will be minutes from the commercial and entertainment hubs in Kalyani Nagar, government institutions in Yerwada and residential neighbourhoods of Koregaon Park and Bund Garden. Pune International Airport is 6km from the hotel.

Conrad Pune's interior will be inspired by Art Deco design, featuring strong geometric shapes, striking colours and lavish ornamentation. It will have 310 guestrooms – all retrofitted with the latest in-room technology, and marble baths.

There will be six dining outlets, and 1,510 sqm of meeting and event space. This will include a 780 sqm grand ballroom that can be divided into three separate rooms. In addition, there are four boardrooms, a breakaway function room, a pre-function area, as well as a fully equipped business centre.

Recreation options include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, full-service spa and a salon.
