Hainan Airlines to fly from Xian to Seattle

28 Oct 2013

Hainan Airlines will begin a direct Xian – Seattle service starting October 30.

The new flight will depart Xian every Wednesday and Saturday at 1040 and arrive in Seattle at 1205 (1105 after November 6 daylight saving adjustment). The return leg will leave the US city at 1400 (1300 after November 6) and arrive back in China at 2135. A two-class A330 aircraft will be used for this service. Airfares start from RMB3,000/US$493, not including tax and surcharges.

Passengers transitting from Chongqing, Chengdu, Yinchuan, Lanzhou, Taiyuan, Wuhan and Xining for this flight do not have to pay extra for the domestic feeder leg. The airline plans to replace the A330 by a Dreamliner on this route starting from next January. This will be Hainan Airlines' second B787 international operation after the Beijing – Chicago route, scheduled to launch this December (see here).

An ancient Chinese capital, Xian is most well known for the Terracotta Army. But it has also become an industrial boomtown in recent years. Click here for an Inside China report.
