The Ritz-Carlton, Tianjin opens its doors

18 Oct 2013 by Clement Huang

The Ritz-Carlton, Tianjin has officially opened its doors. As reported previously by Business Traveller (see here), this new hotel is the luxury hospitality brand's 10th property in China.

Located in the city's central business district by the Haihe River, The Ritz-Carlton, Tianjin is housed in a newly built structure inspired by neo-classical style. It is about 30 minutes' drive from the Tianjin Binhai airport and 15 minutes from the train station, from which Beijing is half an hour away by high-speed rail.

The property features 277 art deco guestrooms and 53 suites created by celebrated designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. These include well-lit chandeliered rooms, many with buttressed-stone balconies overlooking downtown Tianjin.

A notable feature of the hotel is the introduction of a new Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge, which is designed with a residential concept and offers an open kitchen that serves up five food and beverage offerings throughout the day. Also offered at this facility are a dedicated concierge and private check-ins.

There are four in-house dining options. The Lobby Lounge serves a list of cocktails and traditional afternoon tea, while all-day-dining Zest offers world cuisine with its open kitchens. Tian Tai Xuan is the hotel’s Chinese restaurant specialised in contemporary Cantonese food. Meanwhile, Flair lifestyle bar and lounge provides live DJ music along with fine wines and South Asian-inspired snacks.

Completing the package is 1,050 sqm of conference and meeting space, an indoor swimming pool, and fitness and spa facilities.

The unveiling of The Ritz-Carlton, Tianjin follows the opening of a sister property in Chengdu earlier this month (see here). The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company expects to reach 100 properties in size by 2016 (see here).
