25 Sep 2013 by Clement Huang

Air France has unveiled its new premium economy and economy cabin products at the International French Travel Market (IFTM) Top Resa fair.

In economy, there will be a new ergonomically redesigned seat with more legroom, a new seat cushion, improved headrests and a wider tray table.

The seat will also feature new functionalities including an electronic socket and headphones holder.

For premium economy, the airline is going to retain the same seat design that was introduced in 2009. However, it will enhance this cabin with more comfortable seat cushions and a multi-position footrest.

The in-flight entertainment system will also be revamped with new wide high definition touch screens and a greater variety of material.

New meal selections, meanwhile, have been available in premium economy since September 1, and include a second hot dish, candies and ice-cream.

The changes will be gradually implemented onto the carrier’s 44 long-haul Boeing 777s from the summer of 2014. Air France will also be unveiling its future business class offering in January 2014, while showcasing its new first class (branded as La Première) in April next year.

Earlier this year, Air France began offering wifi connectivity on some of its B777s (see here).
