British Airways is launching Lifetime Tier Points for its Executive Club members, it was announced today.
The new scheme will see the airline add Tier Points earned in the past to a new lifetime balance.
This means that in addition to annual Tier Points, members will be rewarded for the points they have built up over their entire membership.
Likewise, all Tier Points earned in the future will be added to the Lifetime Tier Points total, which will continue to accumulate year-on-year.
Members will be able to view a balance of their Lifetime Tier Points whenever they log into their Executive Club account.
And, once members have built up 35,000 Lifetime Tier Points they will receive a Gold membership for as long as they are a member of the Executive Club.
BA said the system will give members "the chance to accumulate enough Lifetime Tier Points to achieve the new rewards we’ll be introducing in the future – starting with the launch of Gold membership for life".
As before, only individual members can earn Tier Points and households are unable to pool their points together.
