Lufthansa has expanded its free mobile services with a smartphone app for Windows Phone 8 users. The app is also available to major mobile devices including Android, Apple iOS and Blackberry.
The app provides easy access to the entire Lufthansa timetable. Flights can also be booked through the app. It also allows passengers to check in whenever they want and store their electronic boarding pass in their smartphone.
A special feature only available for Windows Phone 8 is the live-tile function. Without opening the app, the latest flight status information will be sent directly to the smartphone. Users can then pin any chosen flight to their start screen as a live-tile, and the information will be continually updated.
Last year, the airline also made mobile boarding passes available for iphone 5 and Apple iOS 6 users (see here).
