Typhoon Kai-tak may affect Hong Kong flights

16 Aug 2012

Flights leaving from Hong Kong and Shenzhen Airports may be disrupted later today and early tomorrow morning as typhoon Kai-tak passes through the region.

Cathay Pacific announced at 1015 that they plan to operate flights from Hong Kong on schedule during the day today, but there may be disruptions between midnight tonight and midday Friday August 17.

The Hong Kong Observatory raised Standby Signal 1 at 11am this morning. It said Typhoon Kai-tak was estimated to be about 430 kilometres southeast of Hong Kong and forecast to move west-northwest towards the coast of western Guangdong.
