SIA to fly special A380 flights to Osaka

16 Apr 2012

To celebrate 40 years of flying between the Lion City and Osaka, Singapore Airlines has announced it will temporarily deploy its Airbus A380 aircraft on the route from August 10 to August 15.

The superjumbo, which will be used instead of the A330 normally operating the service, will depart Singapore at 0010 on August 10, arriving in Osaka at 0740. From August 11 onwards, the flight will depart at 0120, arriving in Osaka at 0850. The return leg departs at 1100, touching down back in Singapore at 1640.

The carrier has also launched a dedicated microsite for various other celebratory activities lined up for the route's 40th anniversary, although it is in Japanese.
