Marina Bay Sands in Singapore will offer guests the option to check into their rooms onboard the complimentary transfer coach from Changi Airport, meaning saving them the hassle of queuing up at reception.
Using handheld tablets, a guest service agent from the hotel will check guests in and provide them with the key card on the bus. Following a successful trial run towards the end of February, the hotel is now making this service a permanent feature and will complete the rollout by the end of March. It is bound to be popular given the sheer size of the 2560-room hotel that leads to long queues and large crowds in the lobby.
Furthermore, all Marina Bay Sands’ airport buses have been equipped with complimentary wifi for guests' convenience. The complimentary airport transfer buses, found at the pick-up areas of Changi Airport Terminals 1,2 and 3, as well as the Budget Terminal, run around the clock in two different frequencies depending on times of the day. The buses operate at 30-minute intervals from 0600 until 2200 and then hourly between 2200 and 0600.
This streamlined check-in procedure compliments the hotel’s express check-out and airport check-in services. With the former, guests have the option to check out from their rooms via the in-room TV, which would mean that they simply have to drop off their keycard into a box located in the lobby on their way out. As reported earlier (see story here), the hotel has also partnered with Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) to offer a city check-in facility within the hotel where guests can drop off their luggage and pick up their boarding passes.
