New trains and e-ticketing for Stansted Express

5 Jul 2011 by BusinessTraveller

National Express East Anglia (NXEA) has begun rolling out new trains and e-ticketing to its Stansted Express airport link.

Passengers can now book tickets for the Stansted Express online and print off tickets prior to arriving at the station, complete with a barcode which can be read by ticket staff.

The new service also includes a saving of £2 on a return fare compared to collecting tickets at the station, and Stansted Express will not charge a booking fee.

The move comes as the group rolls out its new Class 379 trains on the Stansted Express route, featuring air-conditioning and wifi internet access. NXEA says that the majority of services between Liverpool Street and the airport are now operated by the new trains.
