Asiana Airlines has launched a new flight between Seoul and Istanbul as well as established a codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines to expand its network.

Under the strategic partnership, there will now be 10 flights per week between Incheon and Istanbul, of which Asiana Airlines will operate three. Turkish Airlines has been serving Incheon daily since 1997.

Asiana now flies to Istanbul on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Thursdays using a B777-200. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, the carrier departs Incheon at 0945, arriving in Istanbul at 1455. The return leg departs Istanbul at 1555, arriving back in Seoul at 0735 the following day. On Thursday, the carrier departs Seoul an hour later at 1045 and arrives in Istanbul at 1555. The return leg departs from Istanbul at 1755 and arrives back in Seoul at 0935 the next day.

The codeshare agreement will also see Asiana Airlines’s OZ code on Turkish Airlines domestic flights to Ankara, Kayseri and Izmir as well as its international flight to Nairobi. In return the THY code will appear on Asiana’s flights to Busan, Fukuoka, Nagoya and Sydney.
