Hilton Valencia to rebrand as Sol Melia hotel

28 Jan 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Sol Melia is set to open its sixth property in the Spanish city of Valencia, with the rebranding of the Hilton Valencia as the Melia Valencia Palacio de Congresos.

Housed within the tallest building in the city, the hotel has been closed since June 2010 due to “problems suffered by the previous hotel owners”. New owners Continental Property Investment fund has leased the hotel to Sol Melia for a minimum of ten years.

The hotel will reopen on February 21 under the new branding, and will feature 269 rooms in two categories, along with two presidential suites and 33 suites. Other facilities include 2,000sqm of conference and meeting space, two restaurants, a spa, a swimming pool and gym, a 26th floor executive lounge, and terraces on both the 1st and 30th floors.

The property is located on Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas, opposite the Congress Centre and the forthcoming Mestalla soccer stadium, and around 10 minutes from the city centre.
