Five Chinese New Year hotel deals in Hong Kong

With the Year of the Rabbit just around the corner, here are a few hotel deals around Hong Kong that offer fabulous views of the fireworks during the Chinese New Year celebration whether you stay overnight or indulge in festive meals.

HARBOUR GRAND HONG KONG

Fortress Hill

Special accommodation deals are available, offering benefits that include a complete view of the harbour from the Hong Kong side. The rate for a one-night stay on February 4 starts from HK$2,888 (US$371).

Benefits: The package includes buffet breakfast and dinner for two at the Harbour Grand Café and late check out till 1500. Guests can also choose to dine at the Le 188 for a seven-course set dinner for two at special fares.

INTERCONTINENTAL HONG KONG

Tsim Sha Tsui

Guests must book at least seven days in advance for stays at the hotel between January 23 and February 18 to enjoy special room rates starting from  HK$1,888 (US$243) for a Superior Plazaview room. The hotel is also offering promotional deals  for meals at the hotel’s various restaurants on February 4, all of which offer clear views of the harbour. Rates for meals start from HK$988 (US$127) per person at Michelin-starred Yan Toh Heen. Diners can also enjoy an eight-course meal at NOBU for HK$1,638 (US$211) per person or a six-course meal at Michelin-starred SPOON by Alain Ducasse for HK$1,888 (US$242).

ISLAND SHANGRI-LA HONG KONG

Central

Besides special guestroom rates, the hotel is offering Golden Circle members double award points and a free night after a consecutive three-night stay. The offer is valid between January 30 and February 17 with rates starting from HK$3,980 (US$511) a night. The free night stay can be redeemed at any property around the world on or before August 31, 2011.

Benefits: Breakfast buffet for two at Café TOO, 15 percent off at the hotel's F&B outlets and late check-out till 1500.

THE PENINSULA HONG KONG


Salisbury Road

The hotel’s advantageous location in Kowloon means that the sea-facing restaurants, guestrooms and suites offer uninterrupted views of Victoria Harbour. The hotel is offering special prices for set meals at its various restaurants on February 4 starting from HK$558 (US$71) per person for a four-course meal. Between February 3 and 6, 2011, overnight stays at a Harbour View room start from HK$5,480 (US$704).

Benefits: All diners at any of the restaurants will be invited to view the fireworks from the Sun Terrace, where  each one will receive a free glass of champagne. The Lunar New Year accommodation package consists of traditional breakfast for two at The Lobby, complimentary internet access and the use of the hotel’s gym and swimming pool.

RENAISSANCE HONG KONG HARBOUR VIEW HOTEL

Wan Chai

Guests can either enjoy a five-course meal at Scala restaurant for HK$888 (US$114) per person. The meal includes a complimentary glass of champagne during the fireworks display. Guests staying overnight between February 1 and 7 can opt for the accommodation package, which starts from HK$2,688 (US$345) per night.
