Asia-Pacific carriers excel in 2010 Zagat survey

4 Dec 2010

Results of the annual Zagat Survey show several Asia-Pacific airlines to be the best in the world.

More than 8,000 American frequent fliers took part in the online tally, rating 90 airlines – 16 domestic American airlines and 74 foreign airlines – on a 30-point scale for their comfort, service, food and websites. Other categories included value, timeliness, check in and luggage policies and inflight entertainment.

Voters gave high marks to regional carriers led by Singapore Airlines, followed closely by Cathay Pacific and Middle East carriers, Emirates and Qatar Airways and then, Air New Zealand. Other top-performers included THAI Airways, Japan Airlines, Asiana Airlines, Korean Airways and All Nippon Airways (ANA).

These airlines scored the highest in the 30-point scale in many of the categories, placing them above US domestic airlines.
