CX and Dragonair's new excess baggage calculation

2 Nov 2010

Cathay Pacific and Dragonair (KA) are introducing a new and simplified method for calculating extra baggage charges from December 1, 2010. This will apply to all flights in its network.

The system will be based on the zone of travel instead of the current method of calculation based on ticket fares. Executives of both carriers said this would provide "transparency and clarity to passengers".

Details of the new and simplified mechanism can be viewed on the airlines' websites, www.cathaypacific.com and www.dragonair.com, and customers can calculate for themselves what charges they will need to pay. Current cabin baggage allowances remain unchanged.
