Marriott announces Renaissance expansion in Europe

1 Nov 2010 by BusinessTraveller

Marriott is to open three new Renaissance properties in Paris, Aix-en-Provence and Lucerne.

The first to open will be the 87-room Renaisance Lucerne Hotel in 2011, a conversion of the existing Hotel Schiller. Located on Pilatusstrasse, the property dates back to 1909, and will be the first Marriott hotel in the Swiss city

This will be followed in 2012 by the Renaissance Aix-en-Provence Hotel, a 139-room new build property in the southern French city. Located close to the Grand Theatre de Provence, the hotel will feature two restaurants, a destination bar, and an outdoor pool.

Finally the 113-room Renaissance Paris Saint-Cloud Hotel is due to open in 2013, and will be the fifth property by the brand in the French capital. The hotel will be situated next to the Paris Country Club in the western Saint-Cloud suburb of Paris, and will be built in country manor style (see rendering below), with features including two restaurants, a bar, 743sqm of meeting space, a spa and outdoor pool.

There are now 27 Marriott properties currently under development throughout Europe, with the group intending to double its European presence by 2015 (see online news March 16).
