KORAIL Airport Railroad will introduce by year-end a 20.4km extension linking Gimpo International Airport to downtown's Seoul Station.
The expanded airport rail service is the second phase of KORAIL's master project, which opened in March with the 37.6km track connecting Incheon and Gimpo airports.
Stops along the upcoming transport facility include Digital Media City Station and Hongik University Station. However, there will be an express service taking 46 minutes to the final destination and a slower commuter service at 54 minutes.
At Seoul Station, an air terminal and baggage processing services will be set up to allow passengers to conduct city check-in.
South Korea's national rail company KTX is also working to improve connections between local cities and Incheon and Gimpo Airports.
