Sometimes, we need reminders that family comes first. We've listed a few hotel packages that should help create those special moments for you and your loved ones. The airline offers, meanwhile, have been designed to help out parents with children studying overseas.


Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees Hong Kong offers the use of its children’s playroom complete with toys and colouring materials to guests (with youngsters), booking a City Deluxe room from HK$1,080 (US$138) with a HK$500 (US$64) hotel credit or a suite from HK$1,880 (US$241) with a HK$700 (US$90) hotel credit. The package also includes shuttle bus service, welcome fruit platter, use of the gym, swimming pool, whirlpool and sauna and 12pm check-in and and 1400 check-out. This offer ends September 30, 2010.

Villa Maroc in Hua Hin, Thailand has mother-daughter package valid until September 30. The Westin Bund Center Shanghai has a 2010 World Expo Shanghai package that includes three one-day Expo tickets, shuttle bus service to the show site, one night's accommodation in a Junior suite for CNY2,180 (US$321), free roll-away bed for a child, complimentary breakfast for three and 50 percent discount off therapies at the Banyan Tree Spa. The promotion is valid until October 31.

Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale West Lake Hangzhou is offering a CNY1688 (US$248) package that includes a one-night stay in a Deluxe room, a maximum of three breakfasts, three dinners and three welcome drinks, a free extra bed, free internet access and 1600 check-out. The offer runs until late August.



Emirates is offering special student fares from Hongkong to UK, starting from HK$3,900 (US$501) including increased baggage allowances of up to 35kg. To be eligible, passengers need to produce a Hongkong ID and valid UK student visa. The fares are available for travel to London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow. Journeys have to be taken on or before October 31, and tickets will have a one year’s validity. Enter promotional code: HKSTU10 when booking online the website to take advantage of the offer.

United Airlines is offering special student fares from Hongkong to the US, starting from HK$4,050 (US$521), excluding tax, for round-trip Economy class tickets. Customers must hold a valid F1/F2, J1/J2 or M1 visa to be eligible for the offer. Travel can be taken anytime during the year.
