IHG’s Intercontinental brand is to open its third hotel in the Chinese capital, a 320-room property situated close to the city’s Sanlitun entertainment area.

The Intercontinental Beijing City Centre is due to open in 2014, and will be located in the Chaoyang district of Beijing, close to the popular nightlife area of Sanlitun, and within walking distance of Sanlitun Soho, a development with five shopping malls and nine office / apartment buildings.

IHG has a total of 20 hotels in Beijing and its suburbs, including five Crowne Plaza properties and two existing Intercontinental hotels - the Intercontinental Beijing Financial Street and Intercontinental Beijing Beichen. Intercontinental also has plans for a further 17 properties in China, with seven due to open this year.
