Incentive travel planners, using Singapore as their next destination, have just found their itineraries widely expanded with the arrival of Universal Studios in Resorts World Sentosa, the first of the city’s integrated resorts projects to open.
The attraction, which packs into seven zones movie-themed attractions such as Hollywood, Far, Far Away, Sci-Fi City and The Lost World, is set to open at 8.28 am on March 18, 2010. Its debut rounds up the first phase of the S$6.59 billion (US$4.6 billion) project – consisting of four hotels, shopping and dining strip, FestiveWalk, Singapore's first casino and the Resorts World Convention Centre among other facilities.
The second phase will see the roll out of Marina Life Park, Martime Experiential Museum, a destination spa and two remaining hotels with a total of 500 rooms.
Marina Bay Sands, Singapore second integrated resort development, recently announced it would open on April 27, 2010 after a spate of construction delays.
