EAST, located in Hongkong Island, adds hotel number three to the growing portfolio of owner Swire Properties. The Opposite House Beijing, launched in 2008, marked the group’s foray into hotel management. The Upper House above Pacific Place Hongkong last October followed suit. East occupies its own building, which is part of One Island East, housing over 300 multinationals, among them Fortune 500 companies.
The hotel features 345 rooms with harbour or city views and amenities such as 37-inch high-definition TVs with satellite and cable channels, iHome/iPod-Touch technology, connectivity for laptops and free wired and Wi-Fi internet access throughout the hotel. The gym operates round the clock and there is an outdoor swimming pool. An all-day café and rooftop bar round up the range of facilities.
