Accor Group to open more Pullman hotels

21 Sep 2009

Accor’s business hotel brand Pullman expands its Asian portfolio with five more hotels in India and China. This will bring the number of Pullman-branded hotels in the region to 22, including 12 existing properties.

The new India properties are Pullman Gurgaon Central Park, Pullman Lavasa and Pullman Delhi International Airport, all scheduled to open between 2010 and 2012.

In China, Pullman Wuxi T-Park is due to launch in 2012 while Pullman Tianjin Kunlun has been planned for 2013.

Michael Issenberg, chairman and COO, Accor Asia-Pacific says: “The Pullman brand is experiencing a major spike in development within Asia. Whilst we expected the brand to establish a foothold in the Asian region, we did not anticipate the speed with which this would happen. The tightening of credit markets and the slowing tourism arrivals has hotel owners and developers looking for contemporary hotel brands that appeal to the modern traveller, priced and distributed efficiently and offer a high-quality product without the clutter of more traditional five-star hotel brands.”

In August, Accor announced the addition of five other Pullman hotels in Shanghai, Pattaya, Phuket and Hanoi.
