Swire Hotels is to open its second property this October, the 117-room Upper House in Hong Kong.
The hotel will join The Opposite House, Swire’s first property which opened in Beijing last year, and will be located within Pacific Place, a commercial, retail and hospitality complex.
Rooms feature harbour or island views, large bathrooms with walk-in showers, dressing areas and separate bathtub, and will start from 68sqm, which Swire says makes them the largest in Hong Kong.
The hotel will feature specially-commissioned sculptures and artwork in both the rooms and public spaces, and there will be a garden on the sixth floor, as well as Café Grand Deluxe on the 49th floor overlooking Victoria Harbour, and a sky lounge on the same level.
Swire Hotels will also open a 345-room property in the TaiKoo Hui district of Hong Kong in 2010, and is currently developing “a collection of stylish boutique hotels in interesting English towns and cities”, also due to be launched next year.
