Air France is to add a sixth daily weekday flight to its London City-Paris Orly route, starting November 24.
The new flight will
depart LCY at 0940 Monday-Friday, arriving into Paris at 1205, with the return
leg leaving the French capital at 1805 and landing back in London at 1830. The move may well have been prompted by continued disruption to Eurostar services, caused by the tunnel fire on September 11. The rail firm is currently running at 93 per cent capacity, and this is likely to remain the case for several months until full access is restored to both tunnels.
Air France operates the route with its City Jet subsidiary, using Avro RJ85 aircraft. The full schedule will now be as follows:
Flight Number LCY ORY
AF5019 0800 1025
AF5021 0940 1205
AF5129 1200 1420
AF5025 1550 1810
AF5027 1830 2055
AF5029 1940 2205
Flight Number ORY LCY
AF5018 0720 0730
AF5020 0835 0900
AF5128 1110 1130
AF5024 1500 1520
AF5022 1805 1830
AF5028 1855 1915
Moving an extra aircraft on to this route means Air France will reduce its LCY-Nice route from a daily service to two flights per week for the winter period. The flights will depart LCY at 0715 on Saturdays, and 1255 on Sundays.
