Airport lounge operator Servisair is to offer free wifi internet access at its 18 UK locations by the end of this month.
Servisair operates non-airline lounges at airports throughout the UK (including three facilities at Heathrow’s terminals 1, 3, and 4). Up until now guests had to pay for internet usage according to the airports’ wifi providers, but an agreement with Spectrum Interactive means this service will now be provided free of charge.
The deal applies only to wifi access – wired access contnues to be offered on a chargeable basis through computer terminals in the lounges. Access to Servisair lounges can be booked via executivelounges.com, with prices starting between £10 and £20 depending on location. Annual membership can also be purchased for £250, giving unlimited access.
The announcement follows BA’s decision to make wifi free in all of its lounges across the UK and Jersey (see online news March 28).
