SenatorGoldParticipantI’ve used both the Lufthansa lounge in the main terminal and the United lounge in T2B. Both offer very good facilities. The scrambled eggs in the Lufthansa lounge are excellent. I don’t know what the United lounge is like early to midmorning but if you have sufficient time and you are departing from T2B you could try both.

mroo_ywgParticipantT2B now has SQ, UA and AC lounges. I have only made use of the AC lounge in T2B and the LH lounge in T2A. as a Gold member you go into the Senator Lounge with a better selection of food and drink. The AC lounge has self service food, and a service bar. The drink selection is not as good compared to LH (IMHO). I have not tried the UA or the SQ lounges so cannot comment. The SQ lounge should be the one to beat I would say, having used other Silver Kris lounges in Australia and the old SQ lounge in T3. Note, as the LH lounge is the only one in T2A, where most European flights depart from, it may get rather crowded, thus the T2B selection may be a better bet.

pheighdoughParticipantT2 lounges have been a hot topic for discussion over the past year. The themes seem to be that if you are departing from T2B then your choices are United, Air Canada or Singapore, and if departing T2A then stick to Lufthansa.
Also worth noting that if you select a T2B lounge and your flight departs from T2A, give yourself plenty of time as it is a very long walk with no moving walkway assistance T2B to T2A.
My choice if I am departing from T2B? The United lounge. It’s better in the United Lounge than on the United plane though…!

sparkyflierParticipantBe careful not to eat too much in which ever lounge you choose as in my experience the food on TK is rather good!

maxgeorgeParticipantI’d second sparky and traveldoc’s comments about TK tucker.
Pheighdough’s warning about the time it takes to get from the A gates to, and, more particularily, back from, the B Gates is right.
It’s a horrendous slog, inexplicable and inexcuseable for a newly designed terminal. Err on the side of caution, and allow at least 15 minutes out and 20 minutes back.
So use The Lufthansa Lounge for A gates, or as a stopover en route to the B Gates. Only use the United and other lounges if yours is a B Gate.
My personal experience has been that the LH lounge staff are much friendlier and more obllging than the United dragons, but then I suppose the latter are only doing their duty to prepare you for a United flight.

KSHaggagParticipantHahhah..I like MaxGeorge s last statement ;it has always been the case that standards on US carriers are lagging behind Asian and European ones .I have to admit still that I have not used AA s new products .UA longhaul was ok but DL transcontinental was just below average from all points of view and regional services were disastrous on variousssssssss occasions in business class .
As for the TK food ,it is great even in Economy Class medium haul flights in terms of presentation ,taste ,and generosity of portions ..Nobody so far beats TK on the food quality and quantity served on board EVEN in Eco class .
On longhaul TK I opt for Comfort Class which is THE BEST in its class above the clouds : space ,IFE ,comfort ,seat pitch ,food ( reminiscent of the business class in the early nineties ) …The catch on TK is generally that their cabin crew need to attend classes to learn a new verb called ” to smile ” ..9 May 2015

maxgeorgeParticipantTry AA sometime, Mr Haggag.
BA’s decline has been inversely proportional to AA’s improvement.
From free seat assignment for all, and seat comfort, especially their Flagship seats, to low-fee redemption availabilty and a call centre that responds promptly, they´ve been getting much better, while BA has been getting worse.
My last BA flight was Club to Jo’burg on April 16. Arrived at the T5 B Lounge and found the food offerings were restricted to sandwiches.SANDWICHES! cf any of the T2 Lounges.
Just don´t expect too much on US domestic flights. That’s a world of it’s own.

KSHaggagParticipantThanks MaxGeorge for the hint !!..much appreciated !
My expectations were indeed raised when I saw the cabins on the new AA 321T aircraft especially in Business AND First .Anyway ,I presume the AA 777-300ER in Business Class should be offering good value in terms of comfort ,space ,service and ambience ..Will take your advice .
BA in my eyes are not the best ever sent from Heaven but I like some unique features they have like the Openskies brand and the JFKLCY product on the A318 in Club only which I tried and would love to retry ..9 May 2015
