I remember pre pandemic security at the First Wing would open at 6am. I have an early flight coming up with BA and wanted to ask if 6am is still the opening time or are the other airside access points in T5 open prior to 6am?

I was on a 7am flight to Rome in May from T5. My recollection is that first wing security opened around 05.30 that day. Certainly before 6am though. There wer about half a dozen of us waiting for the doors to open.

I thought security opened at 5am at T5. Given the first departures are 6.15am, a 5.30 opening wouldn’t allow much time to get to the gate and board for an on-time departure !

I don’t know what time security opened – but when I went through T5 a few weeks ago I was definitely airside by about 0540. I recall no lines through security, which took less than 5 minutes.
