Dublin Airports Authority have done it again. They’ve blocked off all of level 3 in Terminal 2 short term parking. Level 3 has more spaces than any other level (as it has indoor and outdoor sections). They don’t appear to have adjusted their capacity calculations.

I had pre-booked as had others. Lots of us spent a long time this morning driving round and round stalking people with trolleys who might be leaving. Even the roof top — usually empty — was completely full. The only staff were protecting the executive parking area (€3,000 a year) and there was no information on available spaces anywhere (because, I suspect, there weren’t any)

In the end, I parked a bit questionably and am crossing my fingers.

This is the same DAA that installed colour scanners in the wrong place during the pandemic, decided to move them and then discovered the floor wasn’t strong enough to hold them. If only all airports were like Shannon….
