    A common enough sin everywhere you go, but what do others think about mobile etiquette (or lack of it) in travel situations?

    Slightly off topic but can anybody clarify the following:

    1) USA: you can turn on your cellular device now that we have landed
    2) EU: you can turn on your mobile when the doors have been opened

    Why the difference? If mobiles are said to effect air navigation systems then surely no mobiles till engines-cut. So in the US they do and in the EU they don’t…
