Hotels in Central London have become expensive.

So little wonder then that some business travellers seek affordable accommodation further out.

This report by Murky Depths reveals that Travelodge has been granted Council permission to construct a large property near the O2.

02 is adjacent to North Greenwich Jubilee line station along with the Thames Cable Car.

Currently there are two major chain hotels in the O2 area.

One being the Holiday Inn Express which would be farther away while the Intercontinental is beside the O2.

No timescale as to when this Travelodge will open.
