continentalclubParticipantJust breaking, a new offer from an unusually (by recent standards) aggressive Starwood:
Enjoy an escape to paradise with an exclusive resorts offer from SPG®. Earn 10,000 bonus Starpoints® when you register, book and then enjoy a stay of four or more nights at participating Starwood resorts through December 19, 2010. There’s no limit on the number of bonus Starpoints you can earn — every eligible resort stay of four or more nights will earn 10,000 bonus Starpoints.
Choose from over 130 luxurious resorts worldwide across six distinctive brands, including St. Regis®, W®, Westin® and Sheraton®. Make your plans and book your stay today.
Registration ends September 30, 2010. Bookings and stays must be completed after registration and before December 19, 2010.
Registration is required at the above link and, to be clear, the bonus only applies to bookings made after registration.
Although the offer relates to resort properties, many of these are also popular convention venues, making this promotion of potential interest to many business travellers.

continentalclubParticipantRegistration has been extended for the 10K promotion, and now closes on 15 October for stays up to 19 December:
Remember that the bonus is on new bookings only, so do remember to cancel and rebook any flexible arrangements that you already hold and which may qualify!
You can also continue to register for the Every Night Counts (double and triple points) promotion until 31 October:

continentalclubParticipantJust thought that I’d report back on this promotion, although it’s now closed to new registrations.
My parents are returned from a 5 night resort stay in the USA, having registered for both the 10K and Every Night Counts promos.
Total spend was just over 1000GBP, for which the points haul was:
Base Starpoints – 3,526
Gold Elite Bonus – 1,763
Every Night Counts – 3,526
R10 Bonus – 10,000So, a total of 18,815 Starpoints or just shy of the 20,000 that would trigger a 5,000 bonus when transferred out to many of SPG’s airline partners.
The stay itself was, reportedly, quite superb – so all-in-all this was an exceptional result.
Hopefully Starwood will offer something similar next year, and I’d encourage BT readers to sign up if they do!
