Earlier this month we reported that Schiphol’s capacity cap was likely to be extended.

It was thought the extension would be throughout the busy summer season.

But news now breaking across mainland Europe says the capacity cap will stay in place through September 2024.

A number of airlines are now taking legal action against the Dutch government regaring the above.

News hasn’t yet reached the UK probably because this KLM statement is, so far, only in [NL]

KLM, Delta and easyJet take legal action against Schiphol capacity cap

This is bad news, I live in Cardiff and have used KLM in the past to travel to San Francisco (SFO) via Schiphol (AMS) but that airport has become a disaster as far as I am concerned. These limits are imposed because the airport has insufficient staff, so in future for me it means hacking up to Heathrow (train fares from Cardiff to Heathrow are horrific) and flying with either United, BA or Virgin Atlantic or not travelling at all!
