Has anybody been to Bali before? Any recommendations on hotels, villas or tours? Or best areas to stay? Just in Bali now and can’t wait to come back so starting to find the best options. Traveling in February again next year.

Hi there firstimebali, welcome to the forum. I have been there many times as recently as the beginning of August, there are a number of places to stay depending on demographic, kids, cost etc. We were in Semanyak and you cannot beat the area for great beaches, amazing restaurants and nighlife and I highly recommend the W in Semnayak an amazing venue.

For fun you can try Ubud but if its quite life I wouldn’t recommend it. Nusa Dua is one of my favourite locations the Grand Hyatt Resort being one of the best, and just above Nusa Dua you have the Banyon Tree resort which is spectacular and you also have the Ayana Hotel with the Rock Bar one of the highlights sitting having a cocktail watching the sun set ….

Remember traffic is chaotic, getting in through Denpasser Airport can be hellish but on the other side there is a diverse vibrant holiday destination, which we truly love and go to as often as we can

    Enjoy your time there ……

I just got back last week. 26 years ago I thought Bali was ‘beautiful’ but nowadays that beauty is hard to see in the over-touristy parts. The east coast is still lovely, but sandy beaches are less common. Amankila is high cost, but it’s worth it for its style, service, food and location, with its own large private beach. We started the holiday at The Legian in Seminyak. Hotel was good, but Seminyak is too crowded for me these days. Ubud was a traffic jam, but looked good from a backpacker’s point of view.

Really depends on what the key ingredients are for your ideal holiday.
Personally I find Bali very busy and commercialized. If you want a more peaceful experience head across to Lombok, or better still Flores or Sumbawa. But that all depends on what you are after.

In your first post, yesterday, you asked “Has anybody been to Bali before?” And now today, surprise surprise, you post again, including links to different websites. Now it is clear what you are trying to do (which I guessed yesterday) – you are promoting local businesses.

People who read Business Traveller on line are not fooled by your transparent posting. Please stop it.
