According to Luchtvaartnieuws.nl Qatar Airways will shortly boost capacity on its Amsterdam route by between 25 and 40 per cent.

The Doha-based airline, at time of writing, has not responded to a request about how it obtained the Schiphol slots.

These additional four flights a week commence on December 16.

Flight frequency will rise from 10 to 14 flights a week.

Yes the Schiphol capacity cap for summer 2024 has now been lifted – see our News pages – so it would appear Qatar Airways is confident there will be enough demand to fill the extra capacity year round.

For a sixth-freedom carrier it makes sense to have double-daily flights because it provides more connection possibilities.

CEO had said he wanted both MIA and SEA to go double daily as well but were waiting on appropriate aircraft.
