    Had checked in on line, check in prompt and then through security to the Qantas lounge. This was quiet at the beginning had some water then a glass of wine and some nibbles, the food offering was mainly salads, but had eaten with friends before heading to the airport. The quiet of the lounge was shattered by a noisy and badly behaved child, with both parents and a baby. The child climbed the seats and jumped off several times and nearly fell into the bags as mum sat SMS ing, dad tried to walk him about a bit and sing to him, but the bad behaviour kept returning. Decided to head to the gate a bit early due to this, as it appeared did some of the others, but crew hadn’t boarded yet.

    Boarded and found we were in the row behind, but child did settle for a while anyway. Head steward introduced himself and his member of staff who would assist us in our area. Requested a glass of rose Bollinger, but was poured Lanson, when corrected this was apologised for and right request arrived. Push back 10 minutes late.

    Requested a Gin and tonic with some nuts, but couldn’t deviate from script so arrived with appetiser of chicken only to quickly deliver the drink and return with the nuts when it was remembered. Food otherwise good, awoke about 4 hours before handling and enjoyed an earlier breakfast, with the wrong 1st course again needed to correct this, had requested the salmon with wardorf salad.

    Had a discreet word with the head steward, commenting how nice the staff were, liked the menu and the comfortable space, but felt the attention to detail was poor and there was too much inconsistency in the service and this lacked attention expected in business. was given a feedback form and suspect this was read.

    Had a bit of a bumpy approach and the seat belt sign went on earlier. the boy and his family weren’t prompted to put their seat belt on, with only one stewardess pointing out the need for the child not to climb the seat. Landed about 10 minutes late and were promptly bused to the premium terminal.

    Overall a good comfortable product let down by sloppy service.
