The airline has ceased its non-stop flights from Perth to London to avoid Iranian airspace fearing Tehran is planning an attack on Israel.
Its reported that the airline’s Perth to London flights will instead operate via a stop in Singapore for the foreseeable future.

Yes that is correct. Until Monday 15th at the moment. The PER-LHR flight will depart PER approx four hours prior to the original time to still make good its 05:00am arrival time into LHR.

There will be no joining/departing pax at SIN, the aircraft will simply land, have a quick crew change, refuel and go.

I am told it still could have operated non stop avoiding the areas of the middle east it wants to however the flight would have been severely restricted in weight, having to offload around 80 passengers each day and as these flights are typically full I guess via SIN is a sensible option.

Yesterday was the first flight to operate via SIN with the temporary flight number QF209.

The LHR – PER segment continues to operate non-stop.

So far the ramifications of this have not been fully felt.

If there were to be hostilities it would affect many airlines both in the region and those which overfly it.

Many flights in the ME region are now being disrupted tonight.

A number of countries have now closed their airspace.

The situation is fluid. Let’s hope matters settle down soon.

Egypt has now closed its airspace … in addition to the countries noted below.
