Norse is following in the footsteps of Norwegian with this route which launches in early November.

Presumably it wants to capitalise on the many Scandinavians who visit Thailand during the winter months (which is the peak season for Europe-Thailand travel).

From experience I regularly find that, more than one airline, introduce service on the route which has remained unserved for some time.

And this is the case for Scandinavia-Bangkok.

SAS which had served Bangkok for 63 years pulled off the route over 10 years ago and was later replaced by Norwegian.

Here I refer to non-stop flights. There are non-stop flights also with Thai and many indirect flights with the Gulfies and some other European airlines (not with BA though !)

Now SAS has, just before the news from Norse, revealed it was restarting Bangkok at roughly the same time.

There out to be demand for both carriers during the winter months but after that … ?

    SAS launches Bangkok A350 route
