The airline was contracted by the Norwegian Polar Institute to make the trip to Troll Airfield, carrying 45 passengers and 12 tons of research equipment.
Where’s the most remote place you have travelled to?
I think Sauðárkrókur in the north of Iceland is the most remote airport I’ve used. And Murmansk in January was an experience also.
For the feeling of being just being in an entirely different place then probably some of the small towns deep in China. A world away from the coastal cities.
Most remote place for me was Easter Island. Really great and well worth the long trip. For my last few days there I hired a car, also great as I could then visit the sites alone.
