For all those South African hands who frequented the Mount Nelson, as do Mrs. LP, offspring and self, I just heard they will only re-open end December (perhaps earlier if restrictions are lifted), however, about half the staff have been retrenched, including Joey Michael who has been there for over 30 years!

This has come as quite a shock and for those who know him, know what a wonderful Guest Relations Manager he is. I hope Joey finds employment soon, or even better, the MNH re-hire him!

Sadly I think we will hear more and more of these stories, as time passes by.

The inevitable consequence of safety first government policies that seem more interested in taking the easy route and closing things down and less in getting economies moving again.
