Reading the recent post about Alitalia code sharing with Air Berlin made me wonder about the number of airlines who code share or work with airlines in other alliances, and if there is any real ‘danger’ regarding proprietary information, etc. You have Alitalia in Sky Team with Air Berlin of OneWorld (both with percentages owned by Etihad), AA codeshares with Etihad while QR is in OneWorld. BA code shares with AirBaltic, owned by SAS from Star Alliance. I’m sure there are plenty more. And not to forget QF with EK, even if EK isn’t in an alliance, it no doubt has a great impact on other OneWorld members CX,MH,QR, etc. Just struck me as strange.
