TerryMcManus24Participantend of February….and looks fairly on the ball……
suppose like Heathrow it shut down last weekend?UK airport company Heathrow Airport Holdings has agreed to sell its 100% interest in London Stansted Airport to Manchester Airports Group (MAG) for £1.5 billion ($2.4 billion) in cash.
The deal is expected to close by the end of February.
As part of the transaction, Australian investment management group Industry Funds Management (IFM) will take a 35.5% strategic stake in MAG.
MAG is the largest UK-owned airport operator and is owned by the 10 local authorities of Greater Manchester in northern England. It owns and operates Manchester, East Midlands, and Bournemouth airports, which between them handle 24 million passengers and almost half a million tonnes of air freight a year.
IFM is the largest investor in Australian airports, with equity interests in Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Northern Territory Airports (which owns Darwin, Alice Springs, and Tennant Creek airports). In the UK, the company already holds interests in the utilities and broadcast/communications sectors
