Manchester Airport did not check passports

Passengers from three international flights which landed at Manchester Airport did not have their passports checked, the airport has confirmed.

Up to 100 passengers from Amsterdam, Brussels and Antwerp missed immigration checks when they were sent down the domestic arrivals channel by mistake.

The airport said it was a mistake by handling agents in Terminal 3, and not UK Border Agency staff.

A spokesman for the airport said it was “not good enough”.

He said: “We expect the companies that work for the airlines to follow the procedures, but that hasn’t been the case on three occasions.

“That’s not good enough for us and so we will put our own staff on every arriving flight that’s affected and make sure that they personally supervise the process so that there’s no way that this can happen again.”…????

…and that says it all….Taliban Airways Tabi-1 has a free run and landed safely into Manchester…….

maybe they are all after jobs at the Olympics

OK so if UKBA staff check the passports and other people work for companies who work for airlines handle the passengers…. what is it the airport staff and management have been doing (apart from selling carts)?
