This was actually my first experience with the A380. I must admit that in general I find all of the A series plans to be very uncomfortable even in business on long haul flights. I was hoping the A380 would change my mind. Unfortunately, this did not happen. I was in 12D which is the middle aisle. The configuration puts you literally right next to the person in the seat next to you even your feet are almost touching. I found the seats to be extremely tight and while they are flat beds, you have no place for your arms. There is no overhead light so you have to use the small reading light. In general, just a terrible configuration.
