The biggest problem with Kingfisher First, which I flew LHR to Delhi, is that the configuration means that when sitting, you’re right next to the person in the next seat, with a distinct lack of privacy.

The in-flight entertainment is at best mediocre: a small and poor choice of films, and a buzzing noise on the sound.

The food was also nothing special: a small thali plate which was very bland. The Dom Perignon didn’t quite make up for this.

However, this airline has one big plus going for it. The flatbed is really the most comfortable I have tried, and it is noticeably wider than on British Airways Club World. You also get a nice sleepsuit and comfortable pillows. I managed to sleep most of the way to Delhi, and the crew still gave me breakfast when I woke just 30 minutes before landing.

Overall, I’d say the flight was good value.
