Earlier this year we flew from Phuket to Bangkok on Bangkok Airways. As we were waiting for our luggage, I amused myself by seeing how many airlines came up on the baggage carousel screen as being codeshares. The list was (forgive me if I don’t get all the names perfectly correct!):

    Air Astana
    Cathay Pacific
    China Airlines
    Emirates
    Etihad
    EVA
    Garuda
    Gulf Air
    Hong Kong Airlines
    Malaysian
    Philippine Airlines
    QANTAS
    Qatar Airways
    Singapore Airlines
    THAI
    Turkish
    Vietnam Airlines

That’s an impressive 17 codeshares. Can anyone beat that??

Impressive indeed Ian and one of my favourite airlines.

However the A319-20 leased aircraft are elderly at about 17 years old and I noticed becoming a little worn and scruffy last trip. Perhaps time for a cabin refit or a new(er) Airbus fleet.

I really like them too, especially in business class (where I got amenity kits and slippers on a 3-hour flight!). I love that all passengers get lounge access too, although admittedly the domestic lounge in HKT is somewhat underwhelming!
