I am sure many of you will have read our piece last month – see below – re Jet Blue and Amsterdam.

An hour ago Jet Blue confirmed it was starting Amsterdam.

I haven’t written a separate piece as key details remain unknown.

Key points are:

1. Service from New York JFK will launch “late summer.” No exact start date give.

2. Boston-Amsterdam will be added later depending on “regulatory approval.”

Originally these Schiphol slots were granted on a temporary basis – see our copy below – but the fact that Jet Blue is starting flights later this summer would suggest it is hopeful of being allowed to use the slots during the winter.

August 29 JFK-AMS 2200-1135 (arrival following day)
August 30 AMS-JFK 1335-1600

September 20 BOS-AMS 2000-0935 (arrival following day)
September 21 AMS-BOS 1135-1400
