Has there ever been a successful profitable Italian owned airline based in Italy ?

I thought AirOne, a LCC (pronounced Ayroneh – a ‘Heron’ in Italian hence their logo at that time) were, and that was why they made that merger a few years ago with a previous incarnation of Alitalia, that had gone the ways of all its predecessors.
They hoped it would forge a new successful partnership …………….. alas, it wasn’t to be.
