I’d like to give everyone a heads up that immigration forms are no longer needed when arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Before Easter, I was on a CX flight bound for HCMC and when I asked for immigration forms, I was told by the crew: “No need.” In disbelief, I went around the arrival hall – as did several others – searching for the darn forms. I finally asked people lining up who said we didn’t need them. Well, what do you know, we didn’t, and all the officer asked was how long I was staying.

A hotelier friend later told me the new procedure was a recent and suddenly introduced one, and very typical of Vietnam where official information can be scarce and developments can happen without notice.
