I recall some 30 years ago having a discussion at the old Hong Kong Aero Club re air ships once again becoming a force in commercial aviation.

It was generally concluded that it was un likely to happen in the forcible future and probably it would never happen due to safety and market issues.

It seems that now is perhaps ‘the future’ ?

Certainly there is a huge tourist market and seemingly ‘Hybrid Air Vehicles’ (Airships no longer plays in 2024) that will soon be able to satisfy that market. Carrying upwards of 100 passengers in luxury and able to stay airborne for many days.

In a 5 minute internet check it seems that there several companies with advanced and apparently viable plans to open the market in 5 to ten years.

Is it all hot air or will this market explode ?
