BullfrogParticipant.. generally I would take a non stop day flight where possible.
any flight eastwards of under 5 hours, I would take a morning flight & not overnight. Equally, going westwards long haul, I would try & set off
on a morning flight.Where an overnight flight is the only option, a flat bed is a must. I would wake early on my day of travel & set my ‘eating habits’ as best as I could to the city of my arrival following my forthcoming flight. No late night meal or alcohol on board or prior to the flight.
A sleeping pill on a flat bed usually gives me 6 hours sleep.
To avoid JLC (Jet Lag City) I would stay up as long as possible in my city of arrival, and again take a sleeping pill when I go to bed to ‘force a night sleep’.
Napping in the day must be avoided !
Over the counter pills from USA like Unisom contain an anti histamine which can make one very drowsy the next day. Melatonin can work well but I don’t always find it effective.
